Tour Stelvio - Gavia Pass - Passo Mendola
Route: From Bolzano Merano along the Vinschgau to Parcines and Naturno. From here continue to Laas and Prad up on the Stelvio-Pass (2758 m). To get on the Stelvio-Pass, you have to complete 48 hairpin curves.
On top of the Pass, you have a magnificent view up to the Ortler (3905 m), the highest mountain in South Tyrol. At the exit of the Stelvio-Pass you will find Bormio, a nice little mountain town with an impressive backdrop. Here you can stroll through the ancient streets with the typical Italian shops. Enjoy a cappuccino in one of the bars. Enjoy this incomparable Italian flair.
You'll drive continue to the Gavia Pass (2621m). The Gavia Pass is a demanding Pass on the abilities of the driver with its tight turns, narrow pass roads but also with an incomparable panorama. Let this tour slowly and without hassle approach and you will remeber with joy.
After crossing the pass you'l get to Ponte di Legno. Next on the S 42 direct to Fondo.
The rest of the way is not so difficult to drive. Over the Fondo-Pass and Mendola-Pass (1363 m) goes the rout to Appiano and then back to Bolzano or Merano.
